This NGO is the result of a movement first initiated by Dr Fathimath Shifaza with enormous support and contributions from similar minded pro active nurses and professionals in other respected areas. These individuals remained the founder members of the organisation. With collective efforts of these founder members EBPHC officially registered at Ministry of home Affairs, Maldives on the date 18th February 2016. EBP Health Champions Maldives is committed to enhance the capacity of Clinicians working in healthcare centres. It is aimed to develop a competitive portfolio of research and establish and international reputation for leadership in the Evidence-based Practice culture in the Maldives. We aim to work thematically ensuring coordination between research, training, consultancy and programs. Our multidisciplinary approach affords is unique insight into all aspects of capacity building work.

Currently we are focusing on:

• Developing and training clinical leaders who could facilitate in the promotion of evidence based culture
• Create learning exchange facility to mobilise knowledge and expertise gained from research to inform the teaching of communication skills in tertiary medical, nursing and allied health education.
• Organise conferences, professional development programs, workshops, and training for the academic community, the health community and the general public.
• EBP Health Champions Maldives is committed to supporting research and Evidence-based Practice and increasing research capacity, confidence and competence within research in the Maldives.
